GAIL ROSIER, now based in Henley-on-Thames, Oxon., has lived all over the world from Morocco and Angola to the USA. She has directed extensively (Shakespeare, Brecht, Sheridan, Friel, Wertenbaker, Fo, Lorca) and enjoyed a work placement at the Royal Court with James McDonald during Peaches, courtesy of Sir John Mortimer, who, along with Sinead Cusack, is a patron of the Acorn Music-Theatre Company* which she co-founded seven years ago with Robina Dallmeyer. Lately she has specialized in open air performances and was in the Henley Festival For Music and the Arts in July on a programme which included Jose Carreras and Leslie Garrett. Original devised work with Acorn has been performed in Zippo’s Circus at the Edinburgh Festival and the Grahamstown Festival, South Africa, as well as in the barns and fields of South Oxfordshire, and is characterized by live, on-stage music and dynamic physical theatre. Gail enjoys collaboration with other artists, notably Seb Piper (artist, musician) and Hannah Firmin (illustrator) and is looking forward to working with Tidal Wave for Night’s Sunlight.
